The City of Temuco lies in the IX Region, of Araucanía. It surrounds the island formed by the Cautín and Toltén Rivers, which treasures the secrets of one of the most numerous and bravest native peoples and the last to fall before the white men: the Mapuches.

Temuco concentrates a rich and efficient administrative and commercial activity. Companies and industries that contribute with more and more booming actions to the already colorful city stand out.
At first sight, Temuco is discovered among soft hills that enclose the city, whereas its green spaces contain crops and industries. All this, under the attentive look of the Llaima Volcano.

The largest protected wildlife areas are located in the IX Region, of Araucanía. They preserve nature and propose education, research and recreation programs for all those who wish to take part in the preservation of the environment, something that Temuco has never left aside due to its history and tradition.
