How to get there

From Puerto Montt to the south, the Carretera Austral, 1.100 km long, surprises for the infinity of pristine natural resources. It is a winding road special for those who enjoy adventure tours, which penetrates natural parks, and where hanging glaciers and giant nalcas, a typical kind of furn, surprise with their immensity. The Carretera runs by cliffs separating the sea from the jungle, bursts into lakes of green waters rich in salmon, climbs the mountains, gets close to the hot springs, goes around rivers of incredible strength, and continues to the south, passing by little cities like Coihaique and Puerto Aisèn, to cross later to the biggest lake in Chile, Laguna San Rafael and finish in Cochrane.

Rafting

Rafting is a team sport, in which all the crew members in the boat row and position themselves in a coordinated manner in order to balance their weight when going through the river rapids and keep themselves afloat.
The standard number of people allowed on the boat is from six to eight crew members, depending on the boat size.
Rafting beginners are recommended to remain in the center of the boat. Those who are somehow experienced and prefer to row may stay in front, whereas the most experienced generally stay at the back.
