Las Maquinitas
This is an outing you can do on foot from Copahue or by car from Caviahue to Copahue and then walking.
The site is situated between the military clinic and the Villa, distant 500 m. to the south east of Copahue, where there are hills and depressions with small pots, abundant air holes, and several hot springs of singular importance.
It is the only virgin active thermal zone in spite of the facilities built by visitors themselves.
Expert thermalists who frequent this place consider these hot springs of an important power and of the best quality to cure diseases. |

Las Máquinas
It is situated 4 km. to the south east of Copahue in the surroundings of Las Mellizaslagoons. The sound provoked by fumaroles and air holes in this sulphurous water lagoon has given the name to these hot springs where you can feel the earth puff.
Near the lagoon there is a hotel and bathing facilities of the Army Social Service, for what they are not open to any visitor. Anyway, you can access with a private vehicle and enjoy this interesting wild spot. |

The Amphitheatre
To the northwest you can access walking from Copahue to the Amphitheatre, a site situated in a depression framed by a rock semi-circle, with milenary araucarias outlined in the horizon.
Manifestations here are less intense than in other zones, and consist of air holes and pots from the main volcano.
Lagunas Las Mellizas Geothermal Pool
This emplacement is situated to the north east of Copahue, between the volcano, The Machines and the village of Copahue.
You must drive either from Copahue or Caviahue along the route that joins both villages, and soon after leaving Copahue you will find the turning and the indicative signs.
The Pool is constituted by a geothermal field with a temperature higher than 150º, used to produce electric power and direct thermal uses such as heating. |
