In Villa La Angostura, an amusing tour on a quad crosses a thick coihue forest along a circuit specially prepared for this kind of adventure.
For such purpose, we had to move up to the La Piedra Recreation Center (see tour), 3 km away from the center of the village, on the road to Mount Bayo, where we were supplied with everything necessary to enjoy the excursion to the utmost.
At “ La Piedra” Sergio Broder, owner of the resort, was expecting us along with his team of guides, who would give us the proper explanations about the tour we were about to start. |
 |
We got on the 90 cc centrifugal quads and started to ride towards the circuit. The good thing about this was that it is not necessary to be an experienced quad driver in order to enjoy the unforgettable ride. You can learn to drive it in only 5 minutes.
As we got deep in the thick forest, the guide told us what gear we had to use in order to climb or go down some slopes on our way. The circuit has different degrees of difficulty which would increase as we got on. |
Listening to the engine roar as we climbed a soft hill was an exciting experience. The zigzagging road presented various bends as we watched the local flora.
The guide explained to us facts about the local fauna, although due to the continuous passing of vehicles, it was quite difficult to spot some of the species.
After traveling along the Mount Bayo foothills during 30 minutes, we stopped the engine to enjoy a few minutes of silence and a spectacular vantage point. |
 |
We watched the Bonito River Valley, Lake Nahuel Huapi, the Quetrihué Peninsula, the Victoria Island and even the Última Esperanza arm, and we got a beautiful sight of the village.
After some minutes of beholding, we resumed our march to complete the circuit. We would get deep into the coihue forest once again and, feeling more experienced, we would speed up.
We felt the Patagonian wind on our faces and adrenaline showed up as we speeded up our quads. "Mind you!" the guide screamed announcing a deep slope downwards, where we would have to cross a narrow wooden bridge. |
The guide helped us cross it as he escorted each of our quads on foot.
Once the obstacle had been surpassed, we continued with the excursion heading for the Recreation Center to finish our excellent tour .
We were exhausted as we had enjoyed so many exciting moments. After some minutes of rest, we could continue with the rest of the mountain activities practiced there. |
