Lake Rosario - El Corcovado - Carrenleufú - Lake Vintter Español
    It is an all day outing. You will get to lake Rosario after passing Trevelin along provincial route 17 and then travel around the southernmost lake in the north of Patagonia. Settlers in the area ellaborate some hand-made fabbric with the wool they spin.

    You must leave to the south from Esquel´s main street along provincial route 259 among thick forests, rivers and watching points.
    
    In km. 19 the turning on the right leads to Laguna Rosario, framed by Sierra Colorada and La Grasa range. It is an aboriginal village with a school, a police station and a general store where you can appreciate the excellent quality of Mapuche weavings.
    
    To the south is Corcovado village, with its streets of a completely irregular design, and connected to Chile through Carrenleufú and Palena, the road to the south to Lake Vintter, and provincial route 17 to Tecka across the steppe.
    
    The development of this area is based in forest and farming activities.

    The areas of Lake Vintter and Río Corcovado are of special interest for fishermen for the quality of their salmon.
    In Hostería Rucu Leufú is exhibited a 17 kg. and 1 m. long trout captured some years ago.
    
    In Chile this lake is called Palena, and concentrates all the fishing activity in the north, a place with forests, pebble beaches and intense blue waters.
