A tour on a light aircraft includes a spectacular flight over the 7 lakes, landing at San Martín de los Andes and a visit to Lanín National Park and the wonderful Lahuen-Co hot springs. |
Adventure starts at San Carlos de Bariloche airport. The aim is to explore one of the most unspoiled areas in Northern Patagonia and to tour around the 7 Lakes district in the Andes Mountain Range, in fact made up by twenty lakes, each of which may be seen from the air without any inconvenience. This is an unforgettable experience, highly recommended for all visitors to this destination.
Surprise hits as soon as small and coquettish San Martín de los Andes is spotted. This delightful city rests on the shores of Lake Lácar and it seems to be nestled by the mountains. Amazement continues at the sight of the distant and imposing silhouette of the Lanín, a conical volcano which features a glacier on its top and concentrates phenomena such as the so-called Escorial (a 7-kilometer-long tongue of petrified lava that gives shape to a delta), several beaches of dark sand and countless craters. |

As we reached Chapelco airport, a guide escorted us around one of the most interesting circuits in the tour: Lanín National Park. Thus, we managed to appreciate the transition from the steppe to the Valdivian rainforest, a cozy wood of monkey-puzzle trees and the spectacular well-preserved seven lakes.
We took a memorable tour on the Escorial. We were astonished to see a natural bonsai forest on it, which certainly makes this place exceptional. |
The perfect finale for our tour was the ecological resort and hot spring spa at Lahuen-Co: a majestic mountain hot spring spa which provides top quality accommodation and gastronomy services.
This is a distinctive site in the entire country, which operates as a base for expeditions and features small hot spring pools at different temperatures, mud baths, stress reduction and relaxing massages and many other options which provide guests the chance to manage mental as well as physical respite. |

As the tour ended, we could choose either to fly back to the airport in San Carlos de Bariloche or to stay at Lahuen-Co, a strategic location to continue our journey towards neighboring Chile, or other districts in Argentinian Patagonia. |
