This reserve has a surface of 10.400 ha. It was created in 1986 to conserve and manage the fauna and its environment, to recover and maintain the soil and the pastureland, reintroduce native species in their different habitats, carry out research on the existing species and determine places apt for tourism.
The main animal species found here are Magellan penguin, biguá, armadillo and guanaco, imperial cormorant, black neck cormorant, red fox and grey fox. Guanacos are a relevant species in the reserve, since there are about 100 individuals. |
