In the centre of the city of Santa Rosa is "Centro Recreativo Municipal Don Tomás", formed by 250 has. around the lagoon of the same name, where you can find grills, very good trees, stores, a swimming pool, footbal, volleyball, basketball and softball fields, a health circuit, children´s playground, athletic tracks and a cycling circuit.The touristic train called "El Puelchito" makes a city tour starting in Plaza San Martín.

    The lake is apt for fishing, with a predominance of pejerrey. It is also good for windsurf, kayaking, canoeing, water ski, and jet ski. Boats, canoes and water bicycles are rented in the spot. There is also a slope for motor boats and a pier. We highly recommend outings on the "Salitrero", a modern ship that sets out from the town dock every weekend to do a short circuit around the lagoon.
    If you go along the coast road and cross the bridge to the island, where there is a beautiful bar with a dock, a fountain with color fish, a cascade, a mirador and the birds island.
    In the lagoon one can fish mackerel and carp. The recommended bite for mackerel is mojarra, prawn, slices of mackerel and carp or chicken viscera. The ideal time for fishing varies according to the weather. The best season goes from March through July or August.
