How to get there

If you come from the north you can drive a car leaving from Esquel along national route 40. After 180 km. from Esquel, you will find Gob. Costa after passing by Tecka, then continue for 30 km. along route 40 to take provincial route 20 to Río Mayo, distant 231 km. from Gob. Costa.
From Río Mayo to Perito Moreno you must drive for 123 km. along national route 40 to Bajo Caracoles and from there drive 383 km. to the junction of national route 40 and provincial route 23, where you must turn to the west to arrive at El Chaltén after 125 km.
From the south, leaving from Río Gallegos along route 40, you drive 375 km. until the junction with provincial route 23, where you will drive for the final 125 km. to the west.
