Traditional architecture is framed in Primitive, Neoclassic and Chalet styles.
The existing architectural heritage may be classified into Monumental, of Architectural Interest and of Environmental Value, and shows the habits of the people in the end of the XIX century and the beginning of the XX century. |

We recommend you do this outing on foot, starting at the main square, and do not miss the Parish Church dating from 1911, the older still parish house, and the building of the former nuns school dating from 1913. |

If you go on along Esperanza street to the coast road, you will have a clearer view of the importance of German immigration in the halls of Casa de la Cultura Emilio Held Winckler and El Colono Museum; in both places there are historical records, photographs and elements used in everyday life by the first German settlers around the lake.
If you wish to spend an outdoor journey, you may go to the beaches La Baja in Centinela peninsula and Maitén, both with gentle slopes and apt for nautic sports, with picnic and camping areas.
El Colono Museum
It is situated on the turning to Centinela peninsula in the streets Esperanza and E. Martín, an ideal space for nostalgia where you can appreciate the history of immigrant in all its magni5tude.
It was created in 1984 by initiative of the Tourism Development Corporation. In its rooms are exhibited a collection of objects, photographs and farming machineries that recreate the life of colonists and the development of the commune. |
