One Day in an Orchard
We invite you to spend a different afternoon in the surroundings of Generel Roca, where you can visit several orchards, fruit plantations, bees and earthworms breeding sectors combined with horseback ridings.
First you must go to Secretaía de Turismo de la Municipalidad, in Mitre street Nº 710 to go on these interesting outings. There you will be informed on how to get to these farms.
One Day in an Orchard
Orchards are the productive unit of the rural area, historically occupied by immigrants, mainly Spanish and Italian, who arrived to the valley to transform it into the oasis we know today.
The first settlement you can visit is the traditional pears and apples farm, where you can walk around the plantations while listening to an interesting interpretative talk about technologies applied to the improvenment of the produce.
Through these talks you will learn that the crop is the final moment of a process that involves labor and care all year round.
Do not stop too long, since the walk is long. You will have the opportunity to know the different cultural tasks performed, and buy fruit and orchard produce.
Soon you will visit the educative farm Milla Cahuel, where you will see the giant market garden full of vegetables of attractive colors and different sizes.

There you will have the opportunity to learn about the recent earthworms technique, a process that turns the soil more fertile through the breeding of these worms.
Then you will access to the bees sector, where they will explain the fantastic process of producing honey, where the laborious bees are the main actors.
Finally you will have the opportunity to go on a nice riding on one of those horses in the farm or on board of an old restored cart, to end in a delicious tea under a willow.
