Leaving from Las Grutas or San Antonio Oeste to the north, you get to the juncture with routes 2, 3 and 251, and there you must turn east along route Nº 3 up to the turning indicating the way to San Antonio Oeste to the south passing by Baliza San Matías. |
It is a 70 km. drive, and you must anticipate your fuel supply, since it is not possible to obtain it in San Antonio Este.
San Antonio Este is but a small village that owes its importance to its deep water port, where ships from all over the world anchor to make commerce with the Valley and the surrounding Patagonia.
In the overseas port of San Antonio Este you can observe the big cranes loading and unloading cargo from a point specially designed for such purpose, since the access to the port itself is not allowed.
The port is in a peninsula limited by Punta Perdices on the north and Punta Villarino on the south only a few kilometres from the port on a long white sand beach with shells and mussels where you can go camping in peace and privacy or go fishing from the coast and collect mollusks.
In Punta Perdices you will find Caleta Falsa, with warm water beaches where you can fish from the coast or from a boat, or go diving to appreciate the abundant sea fauna.
Sea treasures are generously offered while the peace of immensity flows in the White Beaches of the East.
In the small village of San Antonio Este you will easily find the little market "Mirador", with a small private museum owned by Mr. Constantino Vicci, an important private collection of elements found throughout more than 30 years in the surrounding Patagonian region. It is a singular collection of historical as well as paleontological elements that testimony the incipient colonization during the past centuries. |
