From October to March you can visit this old patagonian estancia situated in the central plateau of Santa Cruz, surrounded by a thick grove in the wide valley of the river Chico.
To get to Estancia La Angostura you must cross the west center of Santa Cruz province, 45 km. from Lake Cardiel or 55 km. from Gobernador Gregores through national route Nº 40. |
If you agree with the people in the estancia you can do different activities such as hiking to Río Chico, crossing a bridge dating from 1921, or go horse-riding around the area.
If you are fond of fishing, you can try and get some nice salmon or trout. |
In this estancia there is a lagoon where different birds can be watched, among which stand out the Macá Tobiano.
This estancia with a capacity for 23 persons situated half way between Perito Moreno and El Calafate is ideal to lodge. Fuel is also available here. |

To get to this desolate region you must take National Route Nº 40 to Lake Strobel in the west center of Santa Cruz province and drive 115 km. from Gobernador Gregores, or 315 km. from El Calafate. |

You will travel through volcanic caves, rock ravines in the area of Lake Strobel, concatenated lakes and ruins of Tehuelche living spaces where you will find small lizards, skunks, foxes, guanacos, american ostriches and pumas. |

This estancia is 250 km. from Gobernador Gregores along national route Nº 40 and from Bajo Caracoles along route Nº 39 to Hipólito Irigoyen, where you cross the peninsula through a narrow bridge joining Lake Posadas and Lake Pueyrredón.
This settlement is near mounts San Lorenzo, Pico Agudo and Huemul from where you can see Lake Brawn. These panoramic vistas of the Andes will keep forever in your memory.
Activities here include guided hiking and horse-riding outings to mount Huemul and El Salto cascade, apart from tasting some exquisite lamb from the region. |
