History

Founded in 1852 as the northern port of Lake Llamquihue, it was joined to Osorno only by a trail that is today a paved road.
Through this trail arrived the German colonists who settled on the lake bank. This community grew with the arrival of the railway at the beginning of the century.

Ski - Snowboarding

These sports are considered adventure travel par excellence. Extreme ski consists of going down quite a steep mountain with nothing but your skis. People practicing this activity have to use this technique in its maximum expression, giving priority to safety rather than to downhill speed.
