Puerto Octay

History and Legends

Founded in 1852 as the northern port of Lake Llamquihue, it was joined to Osorno only by a trail that is today a paved road.
Through this trail arrived the German colonists who settled on the lake bank. This community grew with the arrival of the railway at the beginning of the century.
