Description: A long cattle-raising tradition characterizes this important venue in the area of Río Grande, which in the early 1900s would be a sheep ranch reaching the Chilean border. Its 24,000 hectares are presently owned by the Larminats. Estancia Despedida has left its sheep tradition in order to work mainly with bovine cattle. But at the same time, this venue is known today for its famous fishing lodge, with exclusive fisheries in the Grande, Menéndez and McLennan Rivers, worldwide known for the size of their trout. Its remodelled facilities to welcome guests include a large living-room with fireplace and a library with books from Patagonia. The Larminat's estancia proposes a stay enjoying the best style of the countryside. Relaxation days, fishing and typical homemade dishes turn estancia Despedida into a special nook to get close to the charming estancias of Tierra del Fuego .
