Welsh culture in Patagonia

In 1865 a group of Welsh settlers arrived aboard the sailing ship Mimosa on the shore of Golfo Nuevo, where Puerto Madryn stands today, and settled in the lower valley of the Chubut River, where Rawson, Trelew, Gaiman and Dolavon were born. Twenty years later an expedition reached the Andes, and the Welsh also settled in the 16 de Octubre valley, Cwm Hyfryd, home to Trevelin and Esquel. Their chapels, museums, tea houses and recipes are still alive: here are the outings we did to discover them.
