A garden contest, a parade of flower floats, a nursery fair and shows every February, on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.
Every midsummer, Villa La Angostura shows off its gardens. The National Gardens Festival has been held since 1991 and is the village’s biggest cultural and tourist event: a contest that rewards the best gardens in each neighborhood, a parade of flower floats along Arrayanes avenue, a nursery and crafts fair, and shows on the main stage, on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi.

A festival born in the gardens
The festival aims to make the village more beautiful every year. A committee visits every neighborhood and picks the best gardens of homes, shops, hotels, cabins and institutions, and the winners are exempt from municipal fees for six months. There is also an agroecological vegetable garden contest. It began in 1991 on the initiative of the municipality and local residents, became a Provincial Festival in 1997 and has been a National Festival since 2013.
What to see and do
- The parade of flower-decorated floats along Arrayanes avenue, which opens the festival.
- Shows on the main stage at the Municipal Gym grounds: in 2026 La Mississippi, Natalie Pérez, Los Charros, Los 4 de Córdoba and Los Nocheros played, among others.
- Crafts, food and nursery fair, with plants and flowers to take home.
- The awards for the best gardens and vegetable gardens.

When it takes place
It is held in February. In 2026 it ran from Saturday, February 14 to Tuesday, February 17, over the Carnival long weekend. For 2027, the Villa La Angostura Tourism Office has announced February 5, 6 and 7. It is high summer season, so book ahead. See accommodation in Villa La Angostura.
